Since the year of 2017, Prof. Yong-Jun Wang, vice-president of the China National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases（NCRC-ND）, carried out close cooperation with the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA). In 2018, Wang and AHA/ASA published a co-signed article that research on continuous improvement of stroke care quality in JAMA, the top journal in the field of medicine. At the same period, the editorial of JAMA addressed that it “represents the best of evidence-based quality improvement efforts” and “Bridging the Evidence-to-Practice Gap in Stroke Care”, which become the model of stroke care quality improvement in low-income countries.
On the basis, the two sides further carried out cooperation on the continuous improvement project of medical quality (IMPROVE) for the reperfusion treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
This cooperation mainly aimed at improving quality of care of intravenous rtPA treatment and mechanical thromboectomy for acute ischemic stroke patients.
